Day 2Abu Simbel Temples Excursion

Your day begins early with a pre-dawn departure for one of Egypt’s most awe-inspiring archaeological treasures: the temples of Abu Simbel.
After a packed breakfast or light refreshments, you will travel by comfortable vehicle across the desert to reach this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The journey itself is part of the adventure, as the landscape gradually reveals the grandeur of ancient Nubia.
Constructed during the reign of Ramesses II in the 13th century BCE, the Abu Simbel complex consists of two magnificent rock-cut temples. The larger temple is dedicated to the king himself and features four colossal seated statues of Ramesses II at its façade, each towering approximately 21 meters high. These monumental figures are among the most iconic images of ancient Egypt.
Inside the temple, you will find intricate carvings and reliefs depicting the pharaoh’s military victories, including the famous Battle of Kadesh. The inner sanctuary is aligned so that, twice a year, sunlight penetrates deep into the temple to illuminate the statues of the gods—an extraordinary example of ancient engineering.
The smaller temple, dedicated to Queen Nefertari and the goddess Hathor, is equally impressive. It is notable for its symmetrical façade and for honoring a queen alongside a pharaoh, which was rare in ancient Egyptian architecture.
After exploring the temples and learning about their remarkable relocation during the construction of the Aswan High Dam, you will return to Aswan.
Back at your hotel, enjoy a relaxing afternoon at leisure. You may choose to rest, take a dip in the pool, or enjoy a Nile-side meal.
Overnight stay in Aswan.

Day 3Philae Temple, Unfinished Obelisk & Nile Cruise Embarkation

After breakfast at your hotel, you will begin your day with visits to two of Aswan’s most fascinating historical sites.
First, head to the beautiful Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Located on an island, the temple is accessible by a short motorboat ride across the Nile, adding a scenic and memorable element to your visit. The temple complex is known for its elegant columns, detailed carvings, and romantic setting surrounded by water.
Your guide will explain the mythology of Isis and the importance of Philae as a center of worship during the Greco-Roman period. The temple’s relocation, similar to Abu Simbel, was part of a major UNESCO effort to save monuments threatened by rising waters.
Next, you will visit the Unfinished Obelisk, located in the ancient granite quarries of Aswan. This massive obelisk, still attached to the bedrock, offers a rare glimpse into the techniques used by ancient Egyptian craftsmen. Had it been completed, it would have been the largest obelisk ever erected.
Following your tours, you will transfer to your Nile cruise ship, where you will check in and settle into your cabin. Enjoy a delicious lunch on board as the ship prepares to begin its journey northward.

Day 4Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples

Today, your Nile cruise continues with visits to two remarkable temples along the river.
The ship will sail to the town of Kom Ombo, where you will visit the unusual double temple of Temple of Kom Ombo. This temple is unique because it is dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder. The temple’s symmetrical design reflects this dual dedication, with mirrored halls and sanctuaries.
Inside, you will see fascinating carvings, including ancient medical instruments and scenes depicting surgical procedures, offering insight into early Egyptian medicine. Nearby, you may also visit the Crocodile Museum, which houses mummified crocodiles.
After your visit, return to the cruise ship and continue sailing toward Edfu while enjoying lunch on board.
Upon arrival in Edfu, you will travel by traditional horse-drawn carriage to the impressive Temple of Edfu. This is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt and is dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus. The journey by carriage adds a charming, local touch to your experience.
Explore the temple’s massive pylons, courtyards, and detailed inscriptions, which provide valuable information about ancient rituals and beliefs.
Return to the ship and continue sailing toward Luxor.

Begin with a visit to the legendary Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of pharaohs from the New Kingdom were carved deep into the desert hills. You will have the opportunity to enter several tombs and admire their vividly colored wall paintings, which depict scenes from the afterlife.
Next, visit the striking Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, dedicated to one of Egypt’s most powerful female rulers. The temple’s unique terraced design blends seamlessly with the surrounding cliffs, creating a dramatic and harmonious landscape.
You may also pass by the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues that once guarded a now-lost temple.
