Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Aswan – Philae Temple & High Dam

Your journey begins in the enchanting southern city of Aswan, where the golden light of the Nile and a relaxed atmosphere set the tone for the days ahead. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by our local representatives, who will ensure a smooth and comfortable transfer to begin your exploration.
Your first stop is the breathtaking Philae Temple, one of Egypt’s most romantic and beautifully preserved temple complexes. Dedicated to the goddess Isis. What makes Philae even more remarkable is its modern history—after the construction of the High Dam, rising Nile waters threatened to submerge the temple forever. In a remarkable international effort led by UNESCO, the entire complex was carefully dismantled and relocated to its current island home, preserving its beauty for generations to come. As you wander through its elegant colonnades and detailed reliefs, you’ll feel transported back into the spiritual world of ancient Egypt.
Next, you will visit the impressive Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering marvel completed in 1970. This monumental structure tamed the powerful Nile River, protecting Egypt from devastating floods while providing vital hydroelectric power. From the top of the dam, you can take in panoramic views of Lake Nasser—one of the world’s largest artificial lakes—stretching endlessly into the desert horizon.
Following your sightseeing, you will board your elegant Dahabiya cruise, a traditional sailing vessel that offers a far more intimate and tranquil Nile experience than larger ships. Settle into your beautifully appointed cabin and enjoy a delicious lunch as the gentle rhythm of the river begins to unfold around you. In the late afternoon or evening, you may wish to explore Aswan’s lively souq, where vibrant stalls display spices, textiles, handmade crafts, and local treasures. The colorful atmosphere and friendly vendors create a memorable cultural experience.
Return to your Dahabiya in the evening to enjoy a delightful dinner on board, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the Nile.

Day 2Sailing to Kom Ombo & Gebel Silsilah

Wake up to the serene beauty of the Nile as your Dahabiya gently sails northward. After enjoying breakfast on deck, surrounded by lush riverbanks and traditional villages, you will arrive at the fascinating site of Kom Ombo Temple.
This extraordinary temple is unlike any other in Egypt, as it is uniquely dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god associated with fertility and the Nile, and Horus the Elder, a falcon-headed god representing kingship and protection. The temple’s symmetrical design reflects this dual dedication, featuring twin entrances, halls, and sanctuaries that mirror each other perfectly. As you explore its detailed carvings, you’ll gain insight into ancient Egyptian beliefs, including medical practices depicted on the temple walls. Nearby, you can also visit the small Crocodile Museum, where mummified crocodiles offer a fascinating glimpse into the reverence of Sobek.
After your visit, you will return to your Dahabiya and continue sailing toward Gebel Silsilah, a hidden gem along the Nile. This area marks the narrowest point of the river, where sandstone cliffs rise dramatically on either side. Due to its limited access, it remains largely untouched by large cruise ships, offering a peaceful and exclusive experience.
Here, you will explore ancient sandstone quarries that supplied much of the stone used in Egypt’s grand temples and monuments. You will also visit the small but historically significant temple of Horemheb, adorned with delicate carvings and inscriptions. Walking through this quiet and atmospheric site allows you to connect with the craftsmanship and labor that shaped ancient Egypt.
As the sun begins to set, return to your Dahabiya to relax and unwind. Enjoy a freshly prepared dinner under the stars, as the tranquil surroundings create a truly magical ambiance.

Day 3 Edfu Temple & Sailing to Esna

Today’s journey brings you to one of the best-preserved temples in all of Egypt—the magnificent Edfu Temple. After breakfast, you will disembark and travel a short distance to reach this extraordinary site, traditionally accessed by horse-drawn carriage for a touch of local charm.
Dedicated to Horus of Behedet, the falcon-headed god, the Temple of Edfu is a masterpiece of Ptolemaic architecture. Its massive sandstone walls, towering pylons, and remarkably intact reliefs provide a vivid picture of religious life in ancient Egypt. As you pass through the grand entrance and into the temple’s vast courtyard and hypostyle halls, you’ll be surrounded by intricate carvings depicting mythological battles, sacred rituals, and royal ceremonies.
The temple’s exceptional state of preservation allows you to fully appreciate its original design and purpose. You’ll also learn about the annual “Feast of the Beautiful Reunion,” a festival celebrating the union of Horus and Hathor, which once drew pilgrims from across the land.
After your visit, return to your Dahabiya and continue sailing toward Esna, a charming riverside town known for its traditional lifestyle and local markets. Along the way, take time to relax on deck, watch daily life unfold along the Nile, or simply enjoy the peaceful scenery.
Your final evening aboard the Dahabiya is a perfect opportunity to reflect on the journey. Savor a delicious dinner and enjoy the calm, unhurried pace that defines this unique style of travel.

Day 4Journey to Luxor – West Bank Exploration

After breakfast, you will disembark from your Dahabiya and continue your adventure by road to Luxor, often referred to as the world’s greatest open-air museum. Upon arrival, your exploration begins on the West Bank, where some of Egypt’s most iconic ancient sites await.
Your first destination is the legendary Valley of the Kings, a vast necropolis hidden within desert hills. This sacred burial ground was the final resting place of powerful pharaohs of the New Kingdom, including the famous Tutankhamun. As you enter the elaborately decorated tombs, you will see vivid wall paintings and hieroglyphs that have survived for thousands of years, offering insight into ancient beliefs about the afterlife.
Next, you will visit the stunning Temple of Hatshepsut, a unique mortuary temple built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most successful female rulers, the temple’s elegant terraces and colonnades create a striking architectural masterpiece that blends harmoniously with its natural surroundings.
Before concluding your West Bank tour, you will stop at the imposing Colossi of Memnon—two massive stone statues that have stood guard over the area for more than 3,000 years. These silent sentinels are all that remain of the once-grand mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.
After a full day of exploration, you will check into your luxurious 5-star hotel in Luxor. Enjoy a relaxing evening, perhaps with views of the Nile, as you prepare for your final day.

Day 5Luxor East Bank – Departure

On your final day, enjoy breakfast at your hotel before setting out to explore the remarkable East Bank of Luxor. Your first stop is the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex ever built. Developed over more than 2,000 years, Karnak is a vast network of sanctuaries, pylons, and obelisks dedicated primarily to the god Amun.
As you walk through the famous Hypostyle Hall, you’ll be surrounded by towering columns intricately carved with hieroglyphs—an unforgettable experience that highlights the grandeur of ancient Egyptian architecture. Every corner of Karnak tells a story of power, devotion, and artistic achievement.
You will then continue to the nearby Luxor Temple, a beautifully preserved temple located in the heart of the city. Unlike many other temples, Luxor Temple was not dedicated to a specific god but rather to the rejuvenation of kingship. As you explore its grand courtyard and admire the colossal statues of Ramses II, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of its ceremonial importance.
With your exploration complete, it is time to bid farewell to this unforgettable journey. You will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your departure, taking with you lasting memories of the Nile, ancient wonders, and the timeless beauty of Egypt.
